Tillamook Oregon
On our trip down the Oregon coast, we stayed at the Tillamook RV park in the north part of town. It is just a block away from the Tillamook Cheese Factory. The park has full hookups, laundry, and other amenities. We planned the stay in this area after we left Fort Stevens State Park.
It appears there are a lot of permanent residents in the park, especially in the front of the park. We stayed in the back, which I understand is a newer section. It is right on the highway, but the sound is not too bad. On another side is a large green field. The site was ok as we didn’t spend a lot of time outside, as it was raining.
RV Parks in Tillamook Oregon Area, Garibaldi
We decided to take a look around at other options for RV parks for any future trips. It has been several years since we have been in the area and I didn’t take good notes last time. We found quite a few different RV and Tillamook County Parks and found quite a few options.
One of the places we stayed in the past was Old Mill RV park right on the Tillamook Bay in Garibaldi. We recognized it once we drove into the park. There is also Tillamook Bay City RV Park which looked like a nice park.
To the north, there was Jetty Fishery Marina and RV Park on the waters of the Nehalem Bay, which had 6 spots facing the bay with fishing boats to rent, no sewer. And Kelly’s Brighton Marina where you can crab off the dock. Sites facing the bay, have water & electric, but no sewer. We were considering going crabbing on this trip, and if we had, these would have been great places to stay.
Barview Jetty County Park has really long pull-through sites, some with sewer. The RV camping area is separate from the tent sites. There are a few water view sites on the jetty, but those don’t have hookups.
Netarts Bay RV Park & Marina, they have some bay view sites, and full hookups. They do have boat and crab gear rentals. It is about 6 miles north of Tillamook.
Wandering the Tillamook Oregon Area
My favorite place to visit in Tillamook is the Blue Heron French Cheese Company. I enjoy trying local wines, and they have nice gourmet foods and gifts.
We had dinner at Pelican Brewing Company in Tillamook. Yes, it was as good as it looks. And the beer I had was good also.
We wandered through the Tillamook Creamery, which looks like they remodeled/expanded since our last visit. It is fun to wander through and watch cheese being made. And they have a huge gift shop.
We also took a trip to Pacific Oyster to buy some fresh seafood for dinner.
And I just had to share the view from a pull-out on our way down the coast. Luckily we were having nice weather the day we took the drive down this part of the coast. Another nice view was from Rockaway Beach, north of Garibaldi. There is so much to see in this area, all within a short drive.
