On our trip to Washington’s Olympic Peninsula, Toutle River RV Resort was a one-night stop on our way up to visit family, and recommended by my parents who have stayed there a few times.  It is a nice 306 full hook-up RV park with large sites that were easy to get into.  And since they had very long sites available, we did not have to unhook our tow vehicle-always bonus points in my book!

The Toutle River RV Resort staff were so nice!  They gave me a call in the afternoon as we were arriving late to let me know exactly how to find them, where my packet would be with my information and site map and let me know about all the facilities available to use.  They went above and beyond to make sure we had all of the information we needed before arriving.

While this park did not have cable, they did have free wifi that was so good I was able to stream a couple of TV shows from my cloud DVR.  That is unheard of in RV parks!  We were in site 81, near the office and other facilities.  The only downside of the park was the train that went by right next to the park quite often – however, we were so tired it really didn’t bother us.  We had a long drive that day, traveling from Canyonville to here, with a stop to visit more family in Corvallis.

Toutle River RV Resort Amenities – so much fun!

This park has SO many things for kids to do.  The games include ping pong, full-court basketball, badminton, pickleball, volleyball, disc golf, horseshoes, and even free G-rated movies to check out in the store.

Also, during summer they feature outdoor movies, and there are large group firepits to enjoy.  This park is a great option if you are looking for a Castle Rock RV park.  It is exit 52, therefore just north of Portland about 52 miles right off of I-5.  It is at the apex of the Toutle and Cowlitz Rivers, and the confluence of these two rivers is widely revered as one of the finest fishing holes in the state.  So bring your fishing poles!

Something really cool I saw in their literature, they are the home park for Tents for Troops.  Active military and their families stay free at over 300 parks across 47 states.  Tentsfortroops.com  I think it is awesome when our troops are supported in any way, and this sounds like such a great deal for them.
