Bullards Beach State Park

We truly enjoy traveling the coast, especially in Oregon.  This is our third trip back to this area and Bullards Beach in the last few years, and each time we enjoy it more and more. We always stay at Bullards Beach State Park, Oregon, conveniently close to Bandon and shopping, crabbing, and the beach. More about Bandon and the area in my next post.  We always visit in October, as crab season is in full swing.

Bullards Beach State Park

The park is located on the mouth of the Coquille River, just outside of Bandon.  It is a popular park, especially during crabbing season, so make sure you make your reservations. We have a 40’ rig and had no problem fitting it and our jeep into a site. I say this as not all parks can fit a big motorhome, as we are finding out.  All sites have at least water & electrical hookups (82 sites).  Some even have sewer hookups (103 sites), which makes for easier longer says.  They even have Yurts for rent, and an equestrian campground.  It is open year around.

Coquille River Light HouseBullards Beach

Located on a rocky point at the south end of Bullards Beach State Park, this is one of Oregon’s smallest lighthouses. Though decommissioned, you can walk through it and view the exhibits and small gift shop.  However, it is only staffed by volunteers during the summer months however to be able to see the inside fog/signal room.

Bullards Beach

It’s about a mile from the campground to the beach area.  There is a wonderful, long (4.5 miles) easy to walk beach in the park.  It is peaceful & beautiful, and of course we kept an eye out for seashells, a hobby of ours.  We even visited with some very nice people on our walk.  We highly recommend spending some time in this area.  We stayed 4 nights – not enough to do everything we wanted to do.
