Lake Charles and Iowa

After leaving Jamaica Beach we headed towards New Orleans, making a stop just past Lake Charles, near Iowa Louisiana.  We stayed at a new KOA, Lake Charles East/Iowa KOA, off the I-10 freeway.  The park is neat, clean and quiet, even though it is near the freeway, and the start of a holiday weekend.  We got a pull-through site with plenty of space, always nice for a quick overnight stay.  Very nice lady at the office.

On our drive though we noticed there are a lot of casinos in the area, and lots of places to eat.  The park itself is not close to these.  There is right down the street the Bayou Rum Distillery, which you can book a tour to go through.
