Silver City RV Resort in Minden, Nevada
This is our first stop on the cross country trip. We got a very late start leaving Sacramento as we had the truck in the shop getting front end work done, so we planned a short drive.
We went from Sacramento up 80, and at Truckee headed towards Tahoe. The RV app said it was not an RV friendly route, but we didn’t see why, so decided to take a chance on the shorter and more scenic route around the north part of Lake Tahoe. It was very pretty.
So our first overnight stop is at Silver City RV Resort in Minden – just south of Carson City.
Minden Nevada
This is another good choice for Nevada RV campgrounds. Silver City is a clean, typical desert type RV park – rock and concrete. The roads to the site are a little narrow, making it a little hard to get into our pull-through site, but luckily the people across from us were not near the road, so we could swing wide. Our pull-through was not long enough for our 35′ fifth wheel and the truck, so we had to disconnect. The park is clean, and really quiet. The park has full hookups with cable and free wifi, which works really well.
Some of the other amenities are – a pool and spa, large laundry room, playground and other game activities. There is a a nice big store with a lot to choose from, including a full assortment of wine, beer and other alcohol. There is also a fishing pond (catch and release). There is even a beauty shop on site! This park was nice, and it was quiet.
