Williams Arizona on Route 66
We spent one night at Williams Arizona, to cut the long drive from Boulder City NV to Flagstaff AZ to see the Grand Canyon. It was a great stop! We wandered the historic downtown area – also the old Route 66. There were great stores, restaurants, and we spent hours down there wandering through them all.
We stayed at the Railside RV Ranch, which was a decent park. They had pretty much shut down most things for the winter, but it was a place to land. I’m sure that when it is “in season” they are a great park. They were very friendly also.
Williams is known as the gateway to the Grand Canyon, but we already have plans to take that drive from Flagstaff. There is a train to take up from Williams, which is another one of the reasons this town is so popular.
We went out to lunch at the Grand Canyon Brewing Company. It was good – and a neat-looking place. Hamburgers and sandwiches are all served on a Bavarian pretzel bun, which was good. I had fish and chips, which was very tasty.
